Delvecchio Faison is a local-based artist currently living in Alexandria, Virginia. He was inspired at the age of five to draw when he saw his stepfather sketch his mother. Faison would carry this inspiration to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, concentrating in Design.

After graduation, Mr. Faison pursued graphic design and work in the printing field. He slowly found the desire and passion to draw again, eventually leading him to paint using the acrylic medium. His confidence in getting his work displayed increased after working with the well-known Raleigh, NC artist Eric McRay’s in his studio at Artspace.

Faison is currently teaching Visual Art at MacFarland Middle School in Northwest Washington DC. Before he obtained this position, he taught Beginning Art at Charles Flowers High School in Prince Georges County, Maryland and was an adjunct instructor at Durham Technical Community College in Durham, North Carolina.

What supplies, of all of the ones you suggested we purchase, should I bring to tomorrow’s Painting for Beginners class? I was successful at buying all of the items, and probably more than necessary, and, well, there is a LOT and I’d like not to have to carry all but the required items. Thanks, Frank Ferreira
